Good value, nearly perfect!

Anyone else check out the UnaliWear Kanega Watch? I was looking for a good fall detection watch that didn't need a smartphone, and this one fits the bill perfectly. I just wish the strap options were a bit more varied, but the peace of mind it offers is worth every penny.

Kanega Watch battery system is genius!

Okay, so I was looking at things like Apple Watch or MobileHelp for my dad, but the UnaliWear Kanega Watch's battery system just makes so much more sense. You get two batteries and a charger, so one's always ready to pop in. It's so easy, honestly. My dad's never without power, and he doesn't have to fiddle with charging cables every night. Plus, I got a nice discount using a promo link when I bought the watch. Worth every penny for the peace of mind. 👍

Really happy with my Kanega Watch!

Has anyone else tried the Kanega Watch? I was looking for a medical alert watch that wasn't too clunky and found UnaliWear. I used a promo code I found on this site for a decent discount, which was a nice bonus. Ordering was straightforward, and it arrived pretty quickly. The watch itself is comfortable, and I was happy to find out it's waterproof, which is important for daily wear. It's really reassuring to have.

Decent value for peace of mind

I bought the Kanega Watch during a seasonal promotion, which saved me a bit on the activation fee. It felt like a good deal for what it offers. I was specifically looking for a wearable medical alert with GPS and fall detection, and this fit the bill without being overly complicated. The monthly fee is comparable to others I looked at, but the initial discount made it feel more accessible. It's definitely worth the investment for the peace of mind it brings.

Good watch, but support could improve

I got the Kanega Watch for my dad a few weeks ago. The automatic fall detection and voice activation features work as advertised, which is a huge relief. He's been pretty happy with it, and the continuous-wear battery system is genuinely clever – no more worrying about charging. Setup was straightforward enough. My main gripe was with customer service when I had a question about the monthly subscription; it took a bit longer than I expected to get a clear answer. Not a deal-breaker, but there's room for improvement there. Overall, it's a solid product for senior safety, and I feel better knowing he has it.

Works great, easy setup

Got the Kanega Watch for my mom. It was easy to set up. The voice control is a big plus for her. Battery system is really convenient. Very happy with it.

Thinking about getting the Kanega Watch for my mom. She's not super tech-savvy. How easy is it for seniors to actually use day-to-day?

R RajeshK 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
My dad has had his for about 6 months now. He mostly just wears it and charges the battery baton. The voice activation for calls is pretty straightforward for him. It's really the main thing he uses.

We had one false alarm when he dropped it hard, but otherwise it's been accurate. He's had one real fall and it worked perfectly.

That's good to hear. What about the fall detection? Any false alarms?

My grandmother struggled a bit at first with remembering to swap the battery, but once we got a routine down, it's fine. She likes how it looks, not too clunky. The waterproof part is a huge plus for showers.

Oh, the battery system is what I'm curious about. Is it confusing?

I'm still debating between this and an Apple Watch for my father. He already has an iPhone. Anyone compare them directly?

M MeeraR 2 weeks ago
Apple Watch needs an iPhone nearby and constant charging. Kanega is designed for seniors first, with the battery and dedicated emergency service. Different use cases I think.

Just got charged for my monthly subscription. The price seemed a bit higher than I remembered. Did anyone else notice a price increase recently?

P PreetiJ 7 hours ago ✓ Best Answer
I switched to the annual plan to save a bit. It works out cheaper than monthly if you plan to keep it long term.

S SureshN 6 hours ago
Good point. I should look into that. Is there an AARP discount on the annual plan too?
3
P PreetiJ 6 hours ago
Not sure about AARP specifically, but I know they have a caregiver discount and military discount. Worth checking their site or calling support.

Mine renewed last month and it was the same as always. Are you sure you weren't on a promo rate that just ended?

Yeah, they often have intro rates. Check your original email receipt.

Hmm, could be. I did get it during a holiday sale last year. Didn't think about that.

what's the deal with the battery? do you have to charge it every night like an apple watch or is it different?

B Beth Bennett 2 months ago
Nah, it's not like an Apple Watch. It comes with these little battery 'batons' you swap out. So one is always charging while you wear the other.
6
T Tara S. 2 months ago
It's pretty clever actually. Means you never have to take it off for charging, which is good for continuous monitoring. Just swap the baton every day or so.

hey, is the unaliwear kanega watch really waterproof? like can my grandma shower with it on or will it mess it up?

C Cody Q. 1 month ago
Yeah, it's totally fine for showering. My grandpa wears his all the time in the shower, no issues.

R Raj 1 month ago
I think it's designed for that. I remember reading somewhere it's cool for everyday water exposure, not like swimming laps though.

Anyone know how long it usually takes for the watch to arrive? I'm in Dallas, trying to figure out if I can get it before next weekend.

C Cody Vargas 1 month ago
From my experience, it was pretty quick. I got mine in like 3-4 business days to Houston.

I'd probably reach out to them directly if you need it by a specific date. Shipping times can vary a lot.

Can you actually return the watch if it doesn't work out? What's their policy on that?

D Derek H. 1 month ago
Yeah, I think there's a trial period. My neighbor returned theirs within a month, no problem.

E Emma Osei 4 weeks ago
They do have a return policy. Make sure to check the exact window, it's usually around 30 days if I recall correctly.

Are there any promo codes floating around for new customers? Like for the activation fee or maybe a discount on the monthly plan?

S Sophie 1 month ago
Sometimes they have seasonal sales, or if you're AARP they might have a code for that. Check their site around holidays.
3
S Shane G. 1 month ago
I got a code for free activation last year by signing up for their email list. Worth a shot!

Thinking about getting the Kanega Watch, but also looked at Medical Guardian. Anyone have thoughts on which is better or why you chose UnaliWear over others?

M Mia V. 1 month ago
I went with Kanega because of the voice control and that continuous wear battery system. My mom struggles with small buttons, and she forgets to charge things, so it was a better fit for her.
5
B Ben H. 1 month ago
My friend has Medical Guardian, and it's fine, but the fall detection on the Kanega seemed more reliable from what I read. Plus, no landline needed for Kanega, which was a big deal for us.
